Ran an R730 6x4 on long hauls with a loaded semi, and yeah, you feel that V8 pulling without you having to fight it. The 12-speed auto does most of the work, smooth enough in traffic and on hills, but it can feel a bit "thinking" when you want an instant downshift. Cab is the usual Scania thing: materials don’t feel cheap, dash is clear, seats got air + heat and you can actually get comfy for a full shift. Sleeping setup is fine, climate control works, roof hatch is nice when you’re parked up.

Fuel burn is the part you notice in the wallet, around 40L/100km is real-world kind of numbers for this sort of power, so don’t buy it expecting miracles. Overall it feels solid and planted, and the basic kit (ABS, electric mirrors/windows, etc) covers what you need.

Ran an R730 6x4 on long-haul with a semi and it’s one of those trucks that just pulls without you working for it. The V8 (730hp) has loads of torque, you feel it on hills and when you’re heavy. The 12-speed auto makes life easier in traffic and on tight yards, though sometimes it feels like it thinks a bit too much before it settles on a gear.

Cab is what you’d expect from Scania. Materials feel solid, dash is easy to read, and the seat with heat + air suspension saves your back on long days. Climate control works fine, and having a proper sleeper matters when you’re out all week. Fuel use around 40L/100km is not small, so yeah, you pay for the power.

Overall I like driving it, just don’t expect it to be cheap to run if you’re the one watching the fuel card.
